How to play Unscramble
Each round has ten words with their letters mixed up. Put the letters back in order to spell the word.
- Tap the letters in order. They move up into the answer row. You can type them too.
- Changed your mind? Tap a letter in the answer row, or press Backspace, to put it back.
- Fill the row to check. If it’s a real word using all the letters, you score. Any correct word counts, even if it’s not the one we picked.
- Stuck? Shuffle mixes the letters again, Hint places the next correct letter, and Skip moves on.
Each word is worth 10 points, minus 3 for every hint, down to a minimum of 2. Choose short words (4–5 letters), medium (5–6) or long (7–8).
Quick tips for unscrambling
- Look for common pairs. TH, CH, SH, ST, ING and ER are often hiding in the jumble.
- Try the vowels in different spots. Most words alternate between vowels and consonants.
- Shuffle often. A new order can make the word jump out.
- Think about endings. -ED, -LY, -ER and -EST are common at the end of longer words.
