Privacy Policy

BoardGameSite (boardgamesite.com) is run by Pixel Art Games (“we”, “us”). This policy explains what information we collect when you use the site and what we do with it.
What we collect
- Analytics, only if you accept cookies. We use Google Analytics for Firebase to understand how the site is used: pages visited, games played, approximate location (country or city), device and browser type. If you decline, analytics is not loaded.
- Your account, if you create one. Your email address, the name you choose (shown on leaderboards), how you signed in (Google or email and password), and your game record: wins, losses, draws, Solitaire times and daily challenge streak. If you sign in with Google, we receive your name, email and Google account ID from Google; we never see your Google password. Passwords for email accounts are handled by Firebase Authentication and are never visible to us.
- Your email, if you sign up for updates. We store the email address you enter so we can tell you about new games and features.
- Your messages, if you contact us. We store the name, email and message you send through the contact form so we can reply.
- Game progress on your device. Your scores, daily challenge streak and cookie choice are saved in your own browser (local storage). If you’re not signed in, they are not sent to us, and clearing your browser data removes them. If you are signed in, your record is also saved to your account so it follows you to other devices.
You can play every game without giving us any personal information.
To keep out spam and bots, the sign-up, contact and account features use Google reCAPTCHA, which looks at signals from your browser and device to check that requests come from a real visitor. Google’s Privacy Policy and Terms apply to it.
How we use it
- To run and improve the site and its games, including keeping your account and record.
- To send you updates you asked for. Every email lets you unsubscribe.
- To answer your messages.
We don’t sell your information, and we don’t use it for advertising.
Where it is stored
The site is hosted on Google Firebase, and accounts, signups, messages and analytics are processed by Google on our behalf. Google may store this data on servers outside your country. See Firebase’s privacy information for details.
How long we keep it
We keep your account and record until you delete your account. We keep newsletter emails until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete them, and contact messages for as long as we need them to help you. Analytics data is kept for Google Analytics’ standard retention period.
Your choices
You can change your name or delete your account at any time on your account page. Deleting your account permanently removes it and your saved record. You can also ask us to see, correct or delete the information we hold about you by emailing pixelartgames000@gmail.com. To change your cookie choice, clear this site’s data in your browser and you’ll be asked again.
Children
BoardGameSite is a general-audience site and is not directed at children under 13. We don’t knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has sent us their information, contact us and we’ll delete it.
Changes
If we change this policy, we’ll update the date at the top of this page.
