Solitaire rules: building down the columns
In Solitaire, cards stack down the columns in alternating colours: a red 8 on a black 9. Learn to build and to move whole runs of cards. How Solitaire works · lesson 2 of 3.
The lesson in words
In the columns, you build downwards in alternating colours: a card can go on one that is one higher and the other colour. A red 8 goes on a black 9.
Try it: Put the 8 of hearts on the 9 of clubs.
A run of cards in order can move together. Tap the top card of the run to pick up the whole run.
Try it: Move the 9 of clubs, with the 8 of hearts on it, onto the 10 of diamonds.
Down by one, alternating colours, and runs move together. Next: the deck and empty columns.
Questions
Can the 7 of hearts go on the 8 of diamonds?
No. Columns must alternate colours: a red 7 needs a black 8.
