The lesson in words
Four in a Row is played on an upright grid: 7 columns and 6 rows. You have the gold discs and your opponent has ivory.
On your turn you drop one disc into a column. It falls to the lowest empty space. Gold always goes first.
Columns are numbered 1 to 7 from the left. Tap anywhere in a column to drop a disc into it.
Try it: Drop a disc into the middle column, column 4.
Discs stack up. A disc dropped into a column lands on top of the ones already there.
Try it: Column 3 has two discs. Tap the space where the next disc in column 3 will land.
Drop, take turns, line up four. Next: all the ways a line can run.
